Courgettes is the fruit of a variety belonging to American native family of Cucurbitaceae, which is rich in minerals and consists mainly of water.
Variegated in the shape, the zucchini is presented in elongated or round shape, with colours ranging from dark green, to light green striated, to gold yellow.
Zucchini are easily perishable, so it is recommended to store them in the fridge just for a few days.
The world’s longest zucchini
A 2 metres long zucchini was harvested in Ferrara (Emilia-Romagna, Italy), entering in the Guinness World Record for “The biggest zucchini in the world”.
